Journal 4b

Jenna ran to her parents room and started to jump up and down on the bed singing, “Happy birthday to me, happy birthday day to me!” Her mom woke up, gave her a kiss and a hug, told her happy birthday and then started out to the kitchen to make a special breakfast for Jenna. As Jenna ate she thought about what her parents got her for her birthday, she knew what she had asked for and what she really wanted but her parents never told her if they were going to get her the thin, shiny, and pink with white strips hula-hoop. “Mom did you get me the hula-hoop that I wanted from Toys “R” Us?” Heather looked at her daughter, “uhh I don’t know, you will find out later Jenna, Eat your food so we can go out,” she said and smiled. When they got back to the house, her presents were sitting on the dining table in the living room, she ran to the table and started to open the gifts, she got a doll and an easy bake oven but no hula- hoop and even though Jenna was excited about her gifts, she wanted to know why she did not get the hula-hoop and almost started to cry. At that moment her dad came out of the room and said “Jenna look over here,” and Jenna turned around to see her dad holding the pink and white hula- hoop in his hands.
