"For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn"
Jane had been in labor for 7 hours before it was announced that the baby was born but dead. It was the saddest moment of her life and his also. Erik had been longing for this child for so long and he wanted that baby boy so bad but he wasn't there. There was no explanation as to why or how, just that John had died. The days after were the worst. Going home to see all of the clothes and furniture there but no baby to fit it. Erik decided to sell everything in order to get some extra money and to get the reminder or John out of his head. Him and Jane posted "For Sale" signs everywhere in the neighborhood. One stating "For sale: Baby shoes, never worn". This was one of the saddest things for her to see, her favorite pair of baby shoes never even getting to be worn by John but going away for another baby to wear. The whole process was hard, to see all of the clothes and furniture going up for sale. This would be their biggest obstacle to overcome.
