Alone, she walked down the hallway with her white and red Jordan sneakers, tight blue jeans, v-necked t-shirt and long brown hair flowing down her back. The rest of the girls were strolling down with their group of friends. Everything around her was bright, bright hair and bright skin.
Her dad should of never made her move over here, even though it was for a job. Her friends her last home seemed irreplaceable and she had been with them for about 2 years which was longer then usual. Again, new people, new house, new look. She was starting to get tired of this and her father who obviously didn't care about her and her feelings.
As Alice walked into the cafeteria she wondered if she would ever fit in with the rest of the girls in her new school. She was obviously different. The other girls looked like they could be on an Abercrombie & Fitch poster which on the other hand she knew should could only be on maybe a Gap poster which if you think about that, it's very different. All the girls in Nevada seemed to look the same but maybe she could change to look the rest of them. As she thought of change, all of a sudden, there it was. Someone who looked like her, a potential friend.
"Hi, I'm Alice from Jersey," Alice said, some what excited to possibly have a new friend.
"Hey," the girl said with a warm smile.
"I hope I'm not bothering you, I'm just trying to find a friend," Alice said, hoping that the girl wanted to talk to her.
"No, you're not bothering me. I'm Jane, sit down, my friends are getting lunch. They should be here soon," and as Jane said that she started waving for her friends to come over to the table. Alice was shocked to see what was in front of her, a whole group of kids that looked familiar to her and made her feel like her old home. Over lunch she talked to the girls and started to feel normal and warm inside. Finally she thought to herself, I found a group of kids that I can relate to.
After school Alice walked home with one of her new friends that she met named Victoria and they talked gossip about the people and the school. Victoria caught her up on everything she needed to survive this year. As they walked Alice just felt so lucky and felt free like the warm air around her.
"Hey dad! I found some friends!" Alice screamed as she walked through the door looking for her father. She found him sitting at the table in the kitchen looking down at the ground.
"Uhh hey baby, I've got some bad news..." her dad started as he looked her in her eyes in sympathy.
No, not again, Alice thought in her head, feeling the tears wheal up in her eyes.
